Today as the clouds roll in on the last day of February I can’t help but think that summer is just around the corner.

And with summer, come patio’s, days at the beach, and for Islanders – Guests!  A few summers ago my aunt and cousin came for just the day, and I wanted to give them an experience of what a lovely summer day would be on PEI for me.  We would meet after work in Montague but they had the whole day, and a bright sunny summer day at that.

They were coming over on the ferry from NS so breakfast on the ferry and a stop at my favorite coffee shop in Murray River (Companion Coffee – check them out on facebook) for an americano, espresso milkshake and one of Steven’s amazing home made muffins.

I then told them to follow the Points East Coastal Drive ( – for some amazing views of Eastern PEI.  The maps are located in many spots (including in our restaurant) and so it is an easy way to see a lot of the sights of Eastern PEI.

I sent them up to Souris, suggested they have lunch at 21 Breakwater (also on Facebook) and enjoy some of my favorite fine dining with that view… a very similar view we have now – we are just down the road!

The girls then went up to Basin head to walk off lunch and enjoy watching the young and young at heart jump off the bridge, or even see if there are surfers out!

And now, we are part of that tour – and part of Points East Coastal Drive.  So many wonderful places to go to, and see, experience and enjoy!

We look forward to being part of your summer 2017 memories!

Cheers - Linda
